Found piano and rope
Inside ErraZuriz’s studio, a real piano hangs from the ceiling, tied to ropes. As the artist explains: “The Piano works as a ‘Post-it’ that reminds me of the fragility of my life.”
For years, the project was only an idea represented by a funny little drawing, until one day ErraZuriz saw a piano for sale for a mere 200 dollars outside a thrift store next to his studio. Impulsively he bought the piano, and together with the help of six friends and some rope, he managed to hoist it to the ceiling. The reality and huge weight of the piano suddenly stopped looking like a cartoon and became a very serious matter. The launch party at the studio included a sign on the floor that warned the visitor to stand under the piano at their own risk.
